BCBG MAX AZRIA Printed Cowl-Neck Tunic-Dress

Now it's hardly a well-kept secret but we love elegantly designed dresses in exotic prints and a flourishing piece from BCBG Max Azria has caught our eye.
From the captivatingly animalistic print and drapey cowl-neck to the relaxed elbow-length sleeves and flattering fit, this dress -which also doubles as a tunic- skillfully brings BCBG’s brand of comfy yet sexy sophistication to life.
Team with a smart blazer in black or neutral for work, or pair with tie-up ankle sandals for laid-back afternoon get-togethers with friends.
Alternatively, this monochromatic piece would look divine with red shoes and some jewellery -- and maybe even a lil red clutch -- for that upcoming CNY do.

TORY BURCH Quilted Backpack

We will forever be fans of sling totes, because they’re attractive and easy, but sometimes, lugging the laptop and folders and other stuff weighing the equivalent of 10 bricks does take a toll on the poor right shoulder.
Wearing a backpack is a great alternative. We can still jam enough of our everyday essentials into it, but we don't have to keep switching the bag from one shoulder to another when we walk around. We could do way more with our hands free, too. Less pain, more gain. And we don’t even have to worry about looking like we “just stepped off the jungle-trekking trail”, as backpacks have been getting a fashionable reboot with a slew of designers giving the classic academic staple a facelift.
Practically sized without being bulky, these lightweight quilted backpacks by the queen of preppy chic Tory Burch has a fresh and youthful appeal that will resonate with both fashionistas and
backpack first-timers from the school hallways to the concrete metropolis. A fun complement to your casual wardrobe, as well as a sleek juxtaposition to your well-cut work suits. And you definitely won’t look like you’re packing up a picnic :-)
(RRP US$325)

Go here to read Tory Burch’s exposition on the nostalgia she has for the backpack in all its iterations.

One small sartorial step for the designers, Rihanna and Ashley Olsen, one giant leap for The Great Backpack Comeback.

Etc.

Funny… but we’re not sure we’d be so calm if we find one boogieing at our door.
And that "Live Young! Live Young!" whisper at the end -- kinda gives us nightmares… just as Chucky did years ago.

MOSCOT 'NEBB' Limited Edition

Few businesses have been able to withstand the changing tides and fancies of a big city like NYC -- but sometimes a family can overcome all odds when there is a passion that comes from within. From hawking with a pushcart on Orchard Street (in 1899) to accessorising the faces of secretaries of state, CIA directors, artists and hipsters, the Moscot Eyewear family business has remained a steadfast NYC institution, producing cool frames that are just oddball enough to get you noticed for the right reasons.
Although the company says that it has never made a conscious effort to be fashion-forward, it is this “anti-bling” factor that so interests today’s eyewear clientele, many who have come to appreciate the utilitarian “Buddy Holly” look now synonymous with Moscot.

Although described as a "chunky, rectangular Henry Kissinger-esque style frame" that’s "raw, aggressive and in your face - just like a real New Yorker" and favoured by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Paul Rudd and Mickey Rourke, Moscot’s Nebb frame, one of the company’s best-selling styles, is certainly not limited to men alone. Don’t believe us? Just watch how sassy, smart, syrupy, and super-cute Lucy Liu looks rocking her Nebb in “Marry Me”, a two-night Lifetime miniseries that just broadcast in the States last month.
(Click here for a sneak peak!)

Lucy Liu’s cerulean Nebb is from a limited edition inspired by Moscot’s admiration for the work of Chris Benz, one of the jewels of the new guard of American designers. Dubbed “The Prince of Colour”, Benz is also known for his retro and joyful designs.

The limited edition Nebb is also a favourite of David Munk (seen donning a pair in 'peacock' here), of the Soho NYC wonderland of vintage goodies ‘Chelsea Girl Couture’.

REBECCA MINKOFF Croc-Embossed Morning After Bag

Need a new bag? Rebecca Minkoff’s Morning After Bag is wonderfully versatile. It’s boxy (hence roomy), comfy, and doesn’t scream designer. It’s ideal for every gal: the white-collar executive in need of a stylish accessory for every work outfit, the student who stuffs her iPad and notes into her bag, the shopper who seeks an easy grab-and-go tote.
Adding to the desirability of this satchel is the wide range of colours and textures - which includes crocodile-embossed leather. Because not everyone will adore the feel of creepy-crawly handbags, this faux-croc MAB, with embossed pattern that mimics the reptilian’s scale convincingly, is a great alternative to enjoy the exotic skin trend.
Tote this gorgeous bag on the arm of your chic suit jacket, or sling it over your cool tee, sleek skinnies and sky-high booties.
(RRP US$530)
