THOM KROM (Hannover, Germany) Unisex Tops

Working as a trend scout/cool-hunter for international European fashion brands for a decade, German-born Thom Krom alias Thomas Kromik’s constant travels took him across the world’s fashion metropolises, allowing him to hone a great sensitivity for visual influence. In 2009, he founded his own label Thom Krom with the objective of creating premium basics that combine quality fabrics and understated detailing.

Thom Krom is based in Hannover, Germany and is being sold in over 20 countries worldwide. The pieces stand out for their unique aesthetic of original details, asymmetries, and an interesting “avant-garde shabby” look. EQUIPMENT

Equipment was originally established in 1976 by Christian Restoin—otherwise known as Mr. Carine Roitfeld. The brand experienced great success thanks to its iconic “boyfriend shirt”. Despite its cult status, bad investments resulted in the brand laying dormant from the 1980s until Serge Azria (a leader in the fashion industry’s “new contemporary luxury” segment and brother of BCBG’s Max Azria) brought it back to life in 2010. In the seasons since, Equipment's designs have upheld the label's androgynous tradition while adding a fresh spin, a formula which have proven to be huge success with fashion editors and Street style favourites alike.

New Brand Alert: STINE GOYA (Copenhagen) Printed Tunic-Dress

Copenhagen designer Stine Goya founded her self-titled label in 2006, offering unique and contemporary fashion with fresh Danish shapes and structures.

A signature Stine Goya silhouette with cropped dolman sleeves, this boxy, loose-fit dress is cut in an easy oversized fit and updated every season with fresh prints. (Goya, after all, is a Central Saint Martin's grad with a degree in print design.)

STINE GOYA

Danish designer Stine Goya followed a diverse career in fashion, modelling for Karl lagerfeld and Chanel, and styling for, amongst others, American Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. During the course of her studies in London, she also spent time under the tutelage of cutting edge designers: Eley Kishimoto, Hussein Chalayan and Jonathan Saunders, each of which have influenced her work, in their mastery of colour, form, and prints.

Today the Stine Goya line is represented in over 90 stores across the world and has garnered strong attention from the media from style.com to Wallpaper.

Zadig & Voltaire was created by Thierry Gillier, who is none other than the grandson of André Gillier (co-founder of Lacoste). In 2003, Gillier took on Swedish model Cecilia Bonstrom as his assistant and three years later promoted her to artistic director. Drawing on her mentor’s signature rock spirit, Bonstrom’s designs epitomise laid-back luxe with a cool-girl twist. So successful is the brand today, it has been receiving regular approaches from would-be private equity buyers.

When blending into the crowd just isn’t an option, women need look no further than Emma Cook’s outstanding surrealistic prints. The London-based Central Saint Martins alum is known for combining nature-/fantasy art-inspired prints into versatile silhouettes, seamlessly bridging the gap between the surreal and the cosmopolitan.
