While Vince Camuto a.k.a. ‘one of the most powerful men in the footwear industry’ may be largely unknown to regular consumers, shoe lovers will no doubt be quite familiar with the brands he has created, among them Nine West, which he co-founded in 1978.
After selling Nine West, Camuto set up his own company, servicing 4,500 global retailers and with his design, marketing and production and sourcing expertise. Later he became master licensee of highly lucrative brands such as BCBG Max Azria, Jessica Simpson, Tory Burch (Camuto collaborated with Burch to create the super popular ‘Reva’ ballet flat), among many others.
