Heritage footwear brand Palladium has collaborated with cooler-than-cool New York designer Richard Chai to present a capsule collection. Using premium fabrics (such as luxurious, texture-rich felt) to reflect his ‘urban nomad’ aesthetic, the acclaimed designer created his own version of the ‘Pampa Tactical’, one of Palladium’s iconic boot designs dating back to the brand’s role as a supplier to the French Foreign Legion in the 1940s.

PALLADIUM
Palladium was founded in France in 1920 to make aircraft tyres for the aviation industry. In 1947, after the end of WWII saw demand for tyres dry up, Palladium put their canvas and rubber expertise to use by making boots that were as hard wearing as their tyres. The company soon became outfitters of the legendary French Foreign Legion with their classic canvas Pampa boot. Over 60 years later, the timeless design of Palladium’s footwear is as relevant as ever and available once again for explorers worldwide. In ‘I Am Legend’, Will Smith (as Robert Neville) wisely wore Palladium boots while trying to survive as the last man on zombie-infested earth. Since then, Palladium has won itself some rather famous fans – even Knox Jolie Pitt has been spotted rocking Palladium.
