As we last posted, versions of the jumpsuit --many of them slinky, sexy, and channeling Studio 54-- were seen from almost every designer worldwide on the Spring/Summer 2011 runway.
Poised in sheeny fabrications with a deep v-neck and exposed zipper accents that lend an ultra-cool utility edge, this jumpsuit from Copenhagen label Rutzou is one such great instance. With an elastic waist, this easy-to-wear one-piece wonder also makes putting an outfit together a snap… or should we say a zip ;-)
Pair with killer heels for a fashion-forward alternative to the maxi cocktail dress.
(RRP £245.00)
P.S. Pictures don't do this piece justice - you simply must put it on and see yourself in it!
In the interview with ALT for Damerne (the widely read Danish women's fashion/lifestyle mag), Susanne Rützou singled out the zip jumpsuit as her pick of the season.
Style tips from the designer: “It can be styled with a jacket over and a pair of ankle boots, and you're ready to party, but it can also be taken in a different direction with a pair of sneakers and a grey T-shirt under.”
In keeping with the 70s trend, jumpsuits reigned supreme on the 2011 catwalks:-
