BALLY Men's Shoes

Now 159 years old, Bally must have been a part of many of our lives growing up. Remember the few fine pairs of loafers that our grandpas, dads and uncles (or grandmas, mums and aunties) owned, and how they’d last forever and ever (and ever)?
Well, gone are the days when Bally stands for boring shoes for your parents. Inspired by the makeover success stories of labels such as Burberry, Bally has in recent seasons made considerable efforts to update its prestigious history. With rich yet wearable designs that don't slavishly follow trends, new creative directors Graeme Fidler and Michael Herz (the duo credited with reenergising Acquascutum, another European label with a long history) are on a great start to reposition Bally as the one and only Swiss heritage luxury house in the global luxury industry.

• Bally Men's Etaxo Slip-Ons
Bally’s passion for alluring simplicity finds expression in the Etaxo slip-ons.
Capturing the laid-back feeling and style of the classic espadrille, this easy breezy pair is perfect for casual days, when you still wish to look refined.

• Bally Waterman Driving Shoes

MORE ABOUT BALLY
Founded in the Swiss hamlet of Schonenwerd in 1851 by Carl Franz Bally, Bally is not only easily the LONGEST existing luxury brand worldwide, it is without a doubt the synonym of quality and elegance.
The original family business was making ribbons, but founder Carl Franz Bally decided to shift production to shoes following a trip to Paris, where he was seduced by a pair of subtly decorated slippers. Snapping up several styles for his wife, he returned to Switzerland, called in local cobblers, and began pioneering the techniques of early shoe manufacturing in the basement of his family home.
From those beginnings, Bally quickly grew to become an international company. The company has held solid through wars, recessions and depressions, and has maintained a business based upon style and comfort.

ALLSAINTS SPITALFIELDS (London) Ladies Denim Jacket

At some point in their lives, practically every gal must have owned a denim jacket. Whether it is brand new or a weathered “family heirloom”, a denim jacket was once the thing to wear, or your look would never be complete.
Now this biggest boom of the 90s (or is that 70s?) is back -- the
denim jacket is making its way right back into the hearts of designers and the closets of celebrities and average Janes. The beauty of the denim jacket is the versatility it brings to your style: mix it with tees, check/plaid shirts, hoodies, camel/grey pants, black skinny jeans, or even a denim bottom in a different shade of blue.
If you’re still hunting for the perfect denim jacket, may we humbly suggest this one from British style arbiter AllSaints Spitalfields. A little bit regal, a little bit rock n' roll, this jacket features premium Japanese selvage trims, intentional fraying, and just the right amount of fading throughout.
(RRP £120)

The stars call on their trusty denim jackets as an all-weather, round the year layering piece.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN X PUMA Combat Training Pants

Alexander McQueen’s death in February this year was a huge shock in the fashion world and since his untimely death, a number of new projects have been unveiled in his honour and we are sure that there will be more to come.

In the mean time, McQueen’s final pieces are being snapped up by fashion collectors, including these combat training pants from his collaboration with the legendary German apparel brand Puma.
(We also have a bit of Alexander McQueen x Puma shoes -- only limited pairs available. OK, sorry, sidenote over.)
These Alexander McQueen x Puma pants are from the outstanding first-ever --and tragically also one of the last-- collections that the designer personally laid hands on. Unexpected and unique, Alexander McQueen’s designs for Puma have always defined a provocative new horizon in sport-fashion. Here, the seasonal theme of ‘power’ and ‘martial arts’ (a sport with -what else- power at its essence) is clearly referenced in terms of the style, colour and material applications, resulting in a boldly modern twist on traditional training pants. In fact --accented with cool contrast paneling and tapered ankles-- these pants seem almost too nice to sweat in. One thing’s for sure: put these on, and your workout will never look so good.

The epic mood of the McQueen x Puma collection is matched by a brief promotional film entitled ‘Ghost’, in which fighters display the fierce elegance of sparring athletes as they attack one another attired in McQueen x Puma garbs.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM Asymmetrical Suspender Skirt-Dress

Isn’t it interesting that every single thing you wore in your childhood -- which made you looked seriously cute and pretty -- is once again popular now that you’re an adult?
Yes, we’re talking about the suspender skirt/dress.
Of course, with the development of the times (and civilizations), the suspender skirt is no longer the unique privilege of kiddos. The modernised suspender skirt/dress is just as fun and delightful, making it a refreshing choice for many an adult and designer.
Literally the first big name label to bring this resurgence back into vogue, 3.1 Phillip Lim’s version is made of luxe 100% silk fabric and given the edgy asymmetrical treatment, making you look stylishly cute instead of “overgrown child” cute.
Fab with a white bandeau, tee, or a sparkly little top -- over or underneath. Finish off with black tights and ankle boots.

The best dressed designer and model: Phillip Lim and Irina Lazareanu attending the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards in NYC, making sure to bring a lot of fun with them. Lazareanu is of course looking quirky yet chic in the suspender skirt in question, while Lim topped off his dress pants with a denim jacket.

...And as modeled by ShuPei Qin on the 3.1 Phillip Lim AW2010 runway.
Trivia: Get ready to see a lot more of this rising star model. Picked as one of Style.com's most anticipated top-ten newcomers, the 20-year-old Qin recently also signed on as Maybelline's newest face.

Hidden Gem: VANS x SIMPSONS NECK FACE Limited Edition Chukka

We have half an hour to spare and were motivated to do a “Hidden Gem” post :-D

It is the Simpsons-themed kicks -- part of a huge collaborative project which took place between Vans and 12 celebrated artists from the underground art community quite a while back.
Of the 14 models, one was designed by the anonymous street art superstar Neck Face, famous for his energetic -if rather frightening- drawing style, and
his strange, funny tags (“Trying is the first step to failing”!).
Obviously, as a skateboarder himself, Neck Face well knows how to interpret a Vans shoe to win the hearts of the Vans community. This distinctive Neck Face-designed Vans Chukka carries a serious collectability factor -- and left many people empty-handed during the launch due to its ultra-limited quantity.
But you don’t have to be one of the “many people”… because we actually have this one here in our store.
Just a few pairs -- and they're on SALE, too :-)
Be proactive, take action now, come view this real find bef
ore it is snapped up by someone else.
And so we hope that you enjoyed reading our Hidden Gem post. If you found it useful, please recommend it to someone else that you feel can benefit by reading it :-D

*Available in other colours, too.

ACNE (Sweden) Printed Pants

While denim will always hold a special place in our fashion hearts, printed pants --a big trend for Fall-- are bringing a whole new selection of wardrobe options.
So if you’re feeling a little bold, check out cult Swedish label Acne’s lively and voluminous take.
With an eye-catching print and edgy zip details, little else is needed than a black blazer (or a little plain top) and some skyscraper stilettos or ankle boots!
(RRP Swedish Krona 2,795 (=RM1,290!))

Meanwhie, the below has got to be absolutely one of the coolest bunch of ladies that we've featured.
They have taken the printed pants trend by its neck, and personalised it to their own interpretation.
So incredibly chic, it hurts.
We can only imagine what else must be hanging in their closets!

TORY BURCH Classic "Tory" Tote

When Barack Obama issued a statement about women leaders during his campaign, one of the names he listed (alongside the likes of Dr. Sally Ride and Billie Jean King) was fashion designer Tory Burch. (Perhaps not only because of her amazing career achievements, but also because of the Tory Burch Foundation, created by the designer last year to provide female entrepreneurs with economic opportunities.)

Although born, raised and educated (in art history) in the elite Philadelphia metropolitan area, Tory Burch was hardly a cookie-cutter uptown girl. She may live a privileged life, but this fashion PR veteran, fixture on the social circuit and self-taught designer has worked vigorously hard for the spot on fashion's highest pedestal.
When the Tory Burch flagship store opened in New York City in 2004, it was almost completely sold out on the first day. In April 2005, Burch’s collection was endorsed on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and since then has grown exponentially into one of the most successful and most recongnisable lines ever, known for its preppy, north-eastern American style dubbed "socialite chic". And when Forbes magazine released its inventory of the world’s 100 most powerful women last week, Tory Burch, in spot 88, was the first of the only three female fashion designers to make this list. (The other two being Vera Wang and Donna Karan, who ranked numbers 91 and 96, respectively.)

Whether shopping in the city or hitting the beach, carry your everyday necessities in Tory Burch’s classic, roomy “Tory” Tote. This bag is also structured enough for the office -- especially on the days when you’ve got loads of stuff to bring.
(RRP US$225)
The stars (Nickhun of 2PM, Wonder Girls) came out for the opening of the Tory Burch’s super-gorgeous Seoul flagship store this past June.

A hand-built family "chariot" for three is among the countless goodies that bear Tory Burch’s eclectic, sophisticated aesthetic.
This "ultimate fantasy Christmas gift" can be yours for a
cool US$4500.

Composed of an Italian yarn-woven mesh-like fabric with an underlayer and a draped cowl neck in the front, and dropped sleeves with a sexy slit, this creation of versatility will look amazing layered over any season's attire.
On warm days, you could wear it over a bandeau and a pair of jeans or leggings, or team it with a slip as a fun mini dress, or simply slip it on over your swim suit.

No matter what time of the year it is, this tunic will yield an everlasting impression!
