Called ‘Victoria, Victoria Beckham’ (like ‘James, James Bond’, perhaps?) the free-spirited sister brand to Victoria Beckham’s highly successful main line sparked a frenzy when it was launched at Harvey Nichols in London earlier this year.
The lower prices — and to be clear, we’re talking relatively low, Beckham-ishly low, with the garments starting at £395 and going up to £1,400 — did not stop the dresses nearly selling out on the first day. Describing the collection, Beckham states: ‘This new line serves to channel my inner girl – it is fun and young with a distinct sense of humour. The Victoria range can’t help but make your smile with its energy and personality.’
In keeping with the playful aesthetic of the line, Victoria Beckham enlisted the help of talented illustrator/film-maker Quentin Jones to create a fun launch video.
Victoria Beckham is also offering her cat print as limited and numbered edition art notes through London Printworks Trust (LPT), a leading textile print workshop and charity. Beckham, along with 10 other designers and artists, have donated their art work in the hope of helping to raise the £200,000 needed to prevent LPT from closing after its funding was cut.
