THE KOOPLES (Paris) Dress with Small Leather Collar

Proving that black is never boring, Parisian label The Kooples plays with lightweight texture and sheerness and adds a cool little collar -made of leather of the softest sort!- to this office- and play-appropriate short-sleeved dress.
A gentle waist elastic provides shape.
Simply switch shoes and accessories for an effortless transition from desk to dinner.
THE KOOPLES
The Kooples (which takes its name from the way 'couples' is pronounced in French) has been growing most rapidly since opening its first stores just a few years ago. Much of the brand's marketing campaigns haven't been shot in studios with professional models, but on the streets or in clubs with real couples, as if a paparazzi had captured them. Dressed in The Kooples, attractive and youthful, the couples aren't always boy and girl, but boy and boy or girl and girl (case in point: Guenievre and Maud, above) - a nod to the 'live and let live' atmosphere Paris has always maintained, not to mention the androgynous vibe the Kooples wants to continue to mine.

THE KOOPLES (Paris) Long Pleated Skirt

With elegant plissé pleats that lend beautiful movement, this chiffon long skirt from hipster Paris label The Kooples will be an instant It-girl favourite. Tuck in a tee and a cropped jacket for a chic downtown look, or contrast with a delicate beaded blouse, layered fine jewellery and high heels for a sensuous evening look.
(RRP £195)
Founded by three brothers named Alexander, Laurent, and Raphael Elicha, Paris-based The Kooples is known for its campaign ads and videos featuring beautiful real couples and their story.

The AW runways have been absolutely inundated with long skirts. What’s equally compelling is that many stylish fashion week attendees also happened to be wearing chic long skirts. The maxi is having such a major fashion moment, legendary New York Times street-style photographer Bill Cunningham even documented these attendees sporting different versions of such skirts. Check out Mr. Cunningham’s comments here.

THE KOOPLES (Paris) Lace/Leather/Satin Dress

The latest fashion buzz to hit Paris, The Kooples is the new brainchild of the Elicha brothers, who also founded the lauded French label Comptoir des Cottoniers. When Comptoir des Cotonniers was bought by the Japanese in 2006, the brothers found time on their hands to adapt their house signature to a new target: take the “couples” idea, combine it with the modern French “je ne sais quoi” -and a dash of rebellious attitude- and meld it into a diabolically hip, youth-arty-love version of the “Savile Row” look. Within just 3 months of opening, The Kooples has already opened up a whopping 20 stores, and are planning to open 150 more in the next three years, including outside France.

Elegant yet sexy, this robe dentelle, cuir et satin (lace, leather and satin dress) by The Kooples is brilliantly put together to help you fill in the missing gaps in your closet.
(RRP €235)

The Kooples’ ad campaigns, always featuring real-life, stylishly-swathed couples of all types and shapes and colours (scouted from the street, Facebook, and Myspace -- what a concept!), never fail to create a refreshing visual landscape, further upping the brand’s cool factor.
