ASH ITALY Kitten Heel Sneakers
While some may feel that the concept of ‘kitten heel sneakers’ is an oxymoron, we like to think that these lace-ups are kind of witty. They are like a split personality - in a beneficial sense, of course. You get two shoes in one. They’re also a great invention for those of us who want to wear sneakers but are vertically challenged, and a nice new option for ladies who’d never normally be seen in sports shoes, as well. They’d work well with jeans, shorts - just any casual wear. We don't know about you, but we are quite fascinated!
Featuring distressed canvas and worn-look detailing, these old-school-kicks-gone-girly are designed by Ash Italy.

Limited Capsule Collaboration Alert! TIMBERLAND BOOT COMPANY x RAG & BONE
What happens when authentic bootmaker meets English tailors?
That was the starting point for the limited capsule collaboration by Timberland Boot Company, the new premium, heritage brand from Timberland, and Rag & Bone, the very cool and very successful New York label Rag & Bone (by British gents Marcus Wainwright and David Neville).
The resulting collection pays homage to a classic work wear aesthetic, underpinned by considered minimalist construction and meticulous stitching. Shoes are purposefully distressed to look worn-in and storied - like how a pair of great vintage work boots should look. Slimmer soles and silhouettes also ensure that these gorgeous boots remain relevant for style-conscious urbanites.
(RRP starts at US$300)
RAG & BONE
While it’s true that “rag and bone” is a British phrase for unwanted odds and ends, fashion label Rag & Bone is really filled with things we totally want. The label started in 2002 as a denim brand, expanding into a full men’s wear collection in 2004, and a women’s wear collection a year later -- all known for their simple-but-not-too-simple wearability and quality.
These days, with an endless list of BFFs -the likes of Alexa Chung, Erin Wasson, Jon Hamm- always sitting front row at their runway shows, it’s clear that Rag & Bone has pretty much achieved the very definition of downtown cool.

J.LINDEBERG (Stockholm) Polo Shirt
Made with organically grown cotton (cultivated without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, from plants which are not genetically modified), this J.Lindeberg tailored polo is, interestingly, named after the legendary style icon Porfirio Rubirosa - nicknamed “Rubi” (and also “The Last Payboy”).
Rubirosa, who was of Dominican origin but grew up in Paris, was not only an elegant jet-setter, he was also a diplomat, skilled aviator, race car driver, and an extravagant polo player. Always impeccably dressed without a single flaw in his appearance, Rubirosa was admired for his exquisite sense of style by many, with Ian Fleming even basing the character of a certain spy named James Bond character on him.
Wear your Rubi with jeans in various washes, chinos in neutrals or pop colours or -why not- with your golf pants!
J.LINDEBERG
Johan Lindeberg started J.Lindeberg in 1997 after a successful stint as the marketing director at Diesel. Eager to detach himself from the perception of working predominantly with denim, Lindeberg looked to professional sports, where denim could not provide the need for comfort and workability.
His friend Jesper Parnevik, the Swedish pro golfer, provided the perfect canvas for Lindeberg. A maverick in his own right, Parnevik bravely displayed Lindeberg’s initial offerings, famously donning pink chinos on the Sunday of his win at the Byron Nelson Championship in 1997.
It took a while for the golf world to synthesise what Lindeberg was trying to accomplish, but by combining tailored cuts with a more subdued colour palate, and with the star power of Colombian “spiderman” Camilo Villegas in recent years, J.Lindeberg has successfully bridged the long gap between the common golfer and high-fashion.
Johan Lindeberg officially left J. Lindeberg in 2009. But if you take a moment to scan a room of competitors at a weekly PGA Tour event, you’ll realise that J.Lindeberg the label isn’t going anywhere. The brand is practically the reference point for every contemporary golf designer, unconsciously or not.
Yes, J.Lindeberg also makes very handsome suits, beloved by the golden boys of Tinseltown.

ASH ITALY Perforated Leather Ankle Boot
Here is a heeled ankle bootie that will delight fashionistas looking for something uncommon and cool. Designed by Ash Italy, it combines a perforated upper (big news this season!) and straps with metal buckles that offer a pretty amazing result.
You’ll easily be able to accessorise your office or weekend attire with this gem. It would also add a very stylish edge to your Little Black Dress, and come Fall, it would rock with socks or tights.
(RRP £155)
Shoes are presented in a distinct classification by most designers this season: perforated leather.

RICK OWENS (Paris) Zip Wallet
If you are distinguishing between clothing and high fashion, between the stuff we wear and the ideas that challenge us, California-born, Paris-based designer Rick Owens aka "The Prince of Dark Design" surely belongs on the renegade edge of fashion. Goth-inflected silhouettes, alienesque palette, transgender shapes… Owens' sensibilities are almost unlike anything else. Even if you don't particularly appreciate his severe, austere, sunglass-wearing-monks-from-the-future aesthetic, you'd be hard-pressed not to recognise his skills. Despite their apparent toughness and severity, his designs remain supple and eminently wearable.
Retaining the label's esoteric codes, Owens keeps it compact and secure with this zip wallet, constructed with rich pebbled leather.
(RRP US$355)
Tilda Swinton, the Oscar winning-actress, is photographed by Tim Walker for the latest issue of W magazine. She looks completely crazy, and therefore that much cooler. In all of these shots, she is wearing Rick Owens boots.
1000-year-old Nordic vampire Eric Northman also wears Rick Owens, as he tapes his smiley PSA to win back the human public. (True Blood Season 4 Episode 1 "She's Not There", 26 Jun, 2011.)
