LA-based fashion-driven golf- & sportswear label Rosasen came about when founders Chris Rosaasen & David Kasischke (avid golfers since the age of 5 & 10 respectively!) found themselves staring at a huge niche for a new breed of golfers who respect the traditions of the game but really want to wear something cool & relevant for their lifestyle. In 1999, the duo teamed with streetwear designer Greg Lucci (who'd done work for Y-3) & introduced a street-smart line of golf apparel where function meets hip & preppy. With designs that one would want to wear almost anywhere, in & out of the country-club, Rosasen rapidly captured a style-savvy male golfing market. A women's line was added in 2004, & in 2007 Tomoaki Matsumura (of cult Japanese label Silvain Sylvian) was brought in to creative-direct the 'T Line Rosasen' collection, which gained such widespread popularity in Japan that it eventually evolved into a full-fledged unisex golfwear label called Mark & Lona a year later. Rosasen itself, meanwhile, continues to extend its reach & appeal at nearly 50 points of across Japan.
Signature polos graced by whimsical designs (tweeny, weeny 'golfing skeleton' monogramme) are among the many fan favourites.
