As a brand Tretorn (now acquired by Puma AG) was registered in Sweden in 1911. The first Tretorn rubber footwear products, however, had appeared two decades prior, in 1891, made by the original factory known as Helsingborgs Gummifabrik. The name Tretorn is Swedish for “Three Towers”, a reference to the distinctive spires of that factory. Tretorn tennis balls have also been bouncing around the world's courts since1902. Today Tretorn reportedly carries a Royal Warrant, appointed by the King of Sweden. (Just in case you didn’t know all that.) Combining a clean & simple aesthetic often associated with Tretorn, "Klippor" is a great wardrobe staple for adventures in the city & beyond. Some subtle metallic hardware aside, the rest of the sneaker is kept tonal (thanks to the construction using smooth & tumbled leather) & minimal, which worked out really nice. Yeah, we wholeheartedly admit that we’re Swedophiles… P.S. How amazing are these vintage (1930 ~ 1970) Tretorn ads?
