After starting out with Ungaro, Féraud & Et Vous, & later head-designing for Diane von Fürstenberg, French-born Manhattanite Catherine Malandrino launched her own label in 1998. Merging French romance with American energy, & never being shy about the importance of ‘seduction’ in her designs, Malandrino brought softness & refinement to the urban female wardrobe & soon gained a glamourous list of celebrity clients. In 2002, “Sex and the City” filmed in her SoHo boutique & Malandrino became the name on every fashion follower’s lips. The designer further acquired a mass appeal following her 2006 appearance as guest judge on “Project Runway.” Today, go to any Hollywood red carpet or turn on “Gossip Girl” & chances are you’ll find at least one, if not two or three, actresses sporting a Catherine Malandrino frock. If all this doesn’t impress you, we promise her clothes will! In the loveliest of blue-green, this exquisite top carries lavish cut-out details & can be easily taken from a day at the office to a night on the town.
