NEW BRAND: 2B. RYCH (New York) Ruffled Blouse

So. Who do you know who doesn't want to be rich? (Hehe.) Well, with 2B. RYCH, the realm can at least be entered through fashion.
Having earned their stripes working for reputable establishmen
ts (Lord & Taylor, Jill Stuart) and picking up fans along the way, Lee Rywkin and Carole Hudson (the “RY” and “CH” behind the brandname) debuted their own New York-based label just this past Fall. Rywkin and Hudson's passion and impressive eye for detail have resulted in a collection infused with modern cut and feminine touches. Best of all, most of the pieces can weave their way seamlessly into any wardrobe. 2B. RYCH is therefore not the question, but the answer ;-)

Refresh your dark denim with this lovely silk top -- simply add patent heels and feel party-perfect in an instant!
The cascade of ruffles also adds a decidedly romantic look to any structured, office-ready pants/skirt.

ELIZABETH AND JAMES Tweed Blazer

Sometimes, perfection is, well, easy. This Elizabeth and James piece is everything you love about the classic blazer and more! It’s sewn from a surprisingly seasonless and soft tweed fabric with a gorgeous texture. It’s also exceptionally tailored, so you don't look like you are wearing your husband's blazer. And the subtly shirred sleeves create a nonchalant pushed-up look, which we always adore.
Wear this (with a crisp shirt and fluid silk pants/pencil skirt) to the office for an important business meeting, or throw it on for Sunday brunch to lend freshness and elegance to your fave old jeans.
P.S. Tweed pieces, being menswear-inspired, work beautifully when juxtaposed with feminine jewellery and accessories.
(RRP US$465)

TORY BURCH Studded Satchel

Like all of Tory Burch’s handbags, this studded satchel, made of sturdy pebbled leather, has a simple shape, but is ever so opulent with front and back pyramid studs adornment. Designed to be worn in two different ways (the double rolled handles, or the detachable shoulder strap), this versatile trophy piece will totally punch up your wardrobe staples!

While the fabulous Kimora toted her Tory, Ming and Aoki only got pink-black backpacks. Maybe that’s why they look a tad sour :-P

NEW ARRIVALS ALERT! 3.1 Phillip Lim Women

New 3.1 Phillip Lim styles just dropped today!
As you know we received a shipment a week back, and some pieces are already selling out like Amy Chua’s Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother.
But fear not, because just this morning a small delivery of various new frocks from 3.1 Phillip Lim has made its way to wondermomo… including designs from his decadent 2011 RESORT collection!
Be sure to stop by to check it out before your size is gone :-)
There’s good reason why the 3.1 Phillip Lim RESORT 2011 collection received high acclaim. Indulging in reminiscences of young Bianca Jagger, heading to Studio 54 in her signature jumpsuits and maxis, the combination of refined '70s references and relaxed minimalism makes this collection majorly chic and completely in keeping with this season's most important trends. And the soft colour palette -- pale peach, meadow green, daffodil and cream -- easily mixes into any closet and stretches well into the seasons ahead.

• 3.1 PHILLIP LIM RESORT Jumpsuit with Open Tie-Back (RRP US$625)
Ballroom dinners, philharmonic concerts, boutique openings, fundraisers, private soirees at home -- you’re a social butterfly with fashionable obligations. If you’re up for an event where you’ll most likely be photographed, take a style risk -- this 3.1 Phillip Lim stunner, perhaps? It may be from his resort collection, but Phillip Lim’s sophisticated onesie is totally perfect for excursions of all kinds. And the peak-a-boo back will make for a pretty surprise :-)

• 3.1 PHILLIP LIM RESORT Cropped Wide-Leg Fringe Pants
(RRP US$375)
Skinnies may have a long life left in them yet, but this is the year in which flares are on-trend, and wide-leg trousers are right there at the top of the trend list. Kind of vintage yet very modern and practical, these pants -also made from Chinoiserie-style silk jacquard- will easily take you from the office to the bar.

See these hippie-elegant pieces in motion in this dreamy little clip featuring Belgian model Pauline Van der Cruysse.

And lastly, HOW TO WEAR WIDE-LEG PANTS:-
• High heels provide a sleeker look for wide-leg trousers, but it’s by no means a faux pas to wear them with flat footwear - there are taller women who pull off the look with sass and style. High-waisted wide-leg pants are especially elongating of the leg line, so wearing flats won’t necessarily make you look dumpy.
• Pair with a slim-fitting top to balance out the volume on the bottom half. A soft, billowing blouse can also work well but is best broken up with a waist-cinching belt.
• Wear with utter 70s glamour: wide-leg trouser, platforms and a big floppy hat.

Or just look to vintage icon Bianca Jagger for style inspiration!

A.P.C. (France) Military Shirt

A.P.C., the unique French denim connoisseur, has always had a military theme running through many collections alongside its denim lines. This military-inspired men’s shirt is made of expertly cut sheer garbadine (a durable, resilient fabric made in a twill weave with distinct diagonal ribs, a clear finish, and a natural luster) so that it will sit on the body smoothly when worn as a heavier shirt or a light quasi-jacket.
Distinctive accents like the eagle patch on the arm and ‘No Sell Out’ embroidery on the chest will please the creative souls. For everyone else who loves simplicity, the shirt will look dope layered over graphic tees.
(RRP £155)

REBECCA TAYLOR "Later Gator" Collection

New Zealand-born designer Rebecca Taylor moved to New York with $600 dollars to her name in the early 1990s, got a job under Cynthia Rowley and eventually struck out on her own with a business partner. Now Taylor is celebrating her label’s 15th year, with runway shows that bring out heavyweight socialites, actresses, and reality starlets.

Taylor’s “Later Gator” collection, made of alligator skin-embossed silk-jacquard, features easy, relaxed shapes that come off as feminine but not frou-frou girly.

Rebecca Taylor Alligator-Embossed Silk Jacquard Tunic-Dress (RRP US$325)
The subtle but chic croco pattern will set you apart as a fashion individualist, while the classic scoop neck and slouchy cut keep it rooted in tradition and comfort. Pair with a classic black blazer and sharp heels for the office, then wear with thong sandals on the weekend!

• Rebecca Taylor Alligator-Embossed Silk Jacquard Tunic-Dress
(RRP US$265)
Again the alligator jacquard silk fabric lends rich textural appeal to an easy-chic shape. The sleeves can be worn either long or elbow-length. See the endless ways to wear this top, here, and seek out new heights of style :-)

SASS & BIDE (Australia) Printed Leggings

Some adore them while others may not appreciate them as passionately, but leggings are still around and they are clearly here to stay. So now it seems the big question isn’t “Should I buy some?”; the question is “Why don’t I have it already?!” and “Which type should I buy?” :-D
These sassy “Printed Cages” leggings -from leading Australian label Sass & Bide- will add a fun twist to any black/ivory/neutral colour tee or tunic. For the more adventurous fashionistas, you might even like wearing them as an extra layer under dresses and shorts.

As you may have noticed, many designers have added printed leggings to their 2011 collections.

On and off the runways, leggings have evolved from basic black to sport every colour and print.

Rihanna and Nicky Minaj (Trinidadian hip hop and R&B artist-songwriter) are of the firm opinion that printed leggings are compatible with all body types.

ABOUT SASS & BIDE
Sass and Bide, one of Australia's most prominent contemporary street- and pop culture-inspired fashion labels, is the story of two Brisbane friends Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke. The name Sass & Bide is a fusion of the ladies’ nicknames (Sarah-Jane = Sass, Heidi = Bide). The label was founded when the pair lived in London and sold their clothes at the Portobello markets. In the cut-throat world of fashion design, it is a testament to the talent and tenacity of the pair that they are still creating clothes together, better friends than ever, and that their label continues to be an international success, with 16 boutiques in Australia, hundreds of stockists worldwide, and a rollcall of celebrity fans.
