MOSCOT 'NEBB' Limited Edition

Few businesses have been able to withstand the changing tides and fancies of a big city like NYC -- but sometimes a family can overcome all odds when there is a passion that comes from within. From hawking with a pushcart on Orchard Street (in 1899) to accessorising the faces of secretaries of state, CIA directors, artists and hipsters, the Moscot Eyewear family business has remained a steadfast NYC institution, producing cool frames that are just oddball enough to get you noticed for the right reasons.
Although the company says that it has never made a conscious effort to be fashion-forward, it is this “anti-bling” factor that so interests today’s eyewear clientele, many who have come to appreciate the utilitarian “Buddy Holly” look now synonymous with Moscot.

Although described as a "chunky, rectangular Henry Kissinger-esque style frame" that’s "raw, aggressive and in your face - just like a real New Yorker" and favoured by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Paul Rudd and Mickey Rourke, Moscot’s Nebb frame, one of the company’s best-selling styles, is certainly not limited to men alone. Lucy Liu’s cerulean Nebb is from a limited edition inspired by Moscot’s admiration for the work of Chris Benz, one of the jewels of the new guard of American designers. Dubbed “The Prince of Colour”, Benz is also known for his retro and joyful designs.


The limited edition Nebb is also a favourite of David Munk (seen donning a pair in 'peacock' here), of the Soho NYC wonderland of vintage goodies ‘Chelsea Girl Couture’.
